Hey there,

Welcome to my website. My name is Stavros Malichudis and I have been working as a professional journalist for the past decade, reporting from Greece, the Balkans, and Europe.

I work for Solomon, a multi-award-winning Greek investigative journalism outlet committed to producing reporting in the public interest and fostering collaboration. I also serve as a board member at Solomon.

I also freelance as an investigative journalist, researcher, producer, and fixer for major European media, participate in cross-border investigations, and participate in journalism panels across Europe.

My areas of focus include: migration and human rights, corruption, climate and the environment, big business interests, and AI accountability.

Bylines:

My journalistic work has been published by major outlets in most European countries, including: BBC, AFP, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Der Tagesspiegel, El Pais, Mediapart, The New Humanitarian, openDemocracy, TAZ, SRF, ARD, Publico, infoLibre, Klassekampen, IRPI, Balkan Insight, and VoxEurop.

Over the past several years, I have been involved in multiple cross-border investigations, collaborating with organizations such as Lighthouse Reports and Investigate Europe.

Examples of investigative work:

My reporting has covered significant issues, including the misuse of tens of millions of EU funds; documented cases of pushbacks in Greece; the accountability of major companies like Uber and Lime; exploitative working conditions at the call center provider Teleperformance and within Aegean Airlines; the concealed involvement of far-right Greek ‘volunteers’ in the Srebrenica massacre.

Findings of investigations I contributed to have been cited in the Greek and European Parliaments, referenced by the US State Department and Greek independent authorities, and have resulted in judicial proceedings and the imposition of fines.
